Draft of Mission Statement

Hey SOViers! H Robert and I stayed up all last night working on our mission statement. Here's how it goes:

As a flowering faith community, guided by the progressive spirit of the Second Vatican Council, we reach out to the diverse community from which we come. Respecting the dynamic tradition of the past we embrace change, foster and encourage each other to look beyond self and work for social justice and environmental stewardship, in solidarity with the marginalized in our society. Taking feminism as a framework for a equitable society and with conscience as our creed we confidently step out into the dawn of the third millenium.

How's that? Do you think we left anything out?

"framework for an equitable society. It's an "an".

That was my fault. DARN! H Robert was like "Are you sure you can do this Che'" and I was like Yah! I'm pretty good with grammar and stuff and I've been doing lot's of stuff for the blog and he says "okay, but make sure you work on your spellings" because some times I get there and they're and their mixed up in my head and sometimes I get you're and your you know.

I just wish he had let me put that line in about celebrities but he didn't.

That's a rockin' mission statement, Ché! Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see the vision statement. By the way, what are our core competencies?

Oh, maybe just the mention of GOD.

We have to bear in mind that the god-spirit as Che' calls her is implicit in our work. It is not necessary to draw special attention to it. Did not someone say preach the gospel always but try not to use words?

"Hey SOViers!"

That sounds like each person's spirit is part of the SOV2. To capture that the spirit of each person is the entire SOV2, I suggest "SOViets".

I really think that the Spirit-god or Gaia should be in there somewhere. AFter all, we ARE Catholic!
