Mia Culper & Retraction

Hey! Well, boy have I gone and done it now! It seems that just by talking about the Medieval Latin Mass, I've offended some Jewish peoples. I think this should serve as a prime example of how perfidious the Medieval Latin Mass is. Not only are there prayers in there that say Jews are all going to hell, but apparently the Medieval Latin Mass is also offensive to Jewish History by supressing the Jewish Scientists who discovered that the earth is round. You can see my Offensive Post here, along with the reasonable comment from an offended Jew who was intimidated into anonymity.

You can imagine how bad I feel about this... it's a sort of Cardinal Sin Against Ecumenism to make someone from another Faith Tradition feel like you don't include the validity of their Faith Tradition within your own. I mean, we should think of our Faith Tradition like a big open circle that keeps expanding to embrace peoples of other Faith Traditions.

So here's my Mia Culper! It is really really anti-semitic to say that Jews have an influence in the economic or cinematic communities that is disproportionate to their demographic representation within the population. That's not what I meant at all! I mean, after all, we all know that it's the RadTrad Catholics who run Hollywood!

That latin mass sounds so opressive...a longer mass?? I hope that doesn't mean that the Presider will have to cut his/her homily short! I do so love those 25 minutes homilies we have now, Father/Mother has so many interesting oppinions for us to groove on, I just luv it!!

I agree with that anonymous poster--Fr. Tim should be ashamed of himself. How dare ye imply that Jews are madly successful!

I for one love Jews--they all look like Cardinals when they wear those little hats!

Timothy,

You show such a generous spirit by taking responsibility for the misinterpretation of that poor misguided creature!

If he/she knew you and knew what a charitable soul you have, how you have hosted seder meals, how you screened "The Deputy," how you stood arm in arm with me and several of my students during the premier of the Passion of the Christ and called "DOWN WITH THE ANTI-SEMITIC GOSPEL OF MATTHEW!" I am sure he/she would never have made such a dreadful mischaracterization of you.

But I suspect that he/she has his/her own bigotry to deal with.

Thanks for your contributions to interfaith dialogue. I would have thought there were enough real Catholic items to mock without dredging up false stereotypes. But if your humor ability is limited to calumny, please proceed.

Regarding anti-semitism and the Gospels, I seem to recall that some guy (he was with an outfit called the Holy Roman Inquisition, methinks) named Joey Ratzinger wrote about it. Thank goodness he was exposed by your traditionalist-comarades before he could achieve any authority with the Church.

Sorry -- I take it all back. I mean if Catholic League President Bill Donahue says on MSNBC:

Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular. It‘s not a secret, OK? And I‘m not afraid to say it.

then it must be the truth.

Boy! I'm really at a loss here. I mean, how can I complain about how the Moto Propio contains prayers offensive to Jews if I'm gonna get yelled at for "dragging Jews into it". Thank the spirit I didn't say anything about the Mormons!

Heavens to Mergatroid! How many alter-egos do you have, man? You must use a spreadsheet program to keep them straight.

If you are interested in revealing identities, just let me know the address and I'm sure my people can rumble with yours, because, well, you know.

Dear Mr/Mz Anonymous.

I was very saddened to see your loss of composure. This is indicative of inward self-loathing manifesting itself as outward hostility. Again notice how you divide people into classes "my people" versus "your people" placing them in adversarial roles.

I am not one to speculate but could it be perhaps that you came from an unstable family structure where the life-partners that provided for you often bickered in front of you.

I sincerely hope you will strongly consider taking one of my courses in confronting internal hidden bigotry through feminine self-empowerment. They are available from Villanoce on-line college.

Anonymous,
Thou art a most cowardly individual, hiding behind this generic handle. I actually like thy people, as they didst unlock the cellar door in Jerusalem's outer defenses and let we Crusaders sneak in and murder the caliph in his sleep. For this favor I have always been grateful, and have often walked through the ghettos spreading my largess to the children.

Thee, however, I do not like. Thou art a whiny little anonymous arse and a sottish fool-born hugger-mugger! I have restrained my cutlass this long because of the respect I have for thy people, but if ye wish to test the edge of my blade, then thou shalt!

I shall meet thee at the SPV2's 'house of faith community celebration' at 1965 Dry Gap Pike Knoxville, TN. Bring a second to serve as squire and a witness.

In fact, bring all yer Muhammadans and Hindi friends. Zoroasters and Monophysites can come as well. Thou shalt all fall before the knights of the TRUE FAITH AND TRULY TRUE CHURCH!!!

(Fr. Chadwick, I am trying to be ecumenical, but sometimes ecumenism is best down with a bodkin rather than a pen!)

Sir Rev. Leonard Feeney, HKTTC

Hey Father Tim!

I accidentally clicked on that Anonymous guy's link hidden behind "you know" and you wouldn't believe how much hatred that guy is spouting. I mean what's his problem?

I mean is that his idea of funny? And he's saying stuff about you? We don't need people like that around SOV2. I'd rather hang out with the radtrads and SSPXrs than that guy who would write stuff like that. I mean, I think I'd rather hug Dick Cheney.
