I was just at the National Catholic Reporter,...Wow. I was just at the National Catholic Reporter, and they have a podcast with Andrew Harvey, who writes a tribute to Christ and the divine feminine! Listen to this dude talk:
Harvey describes a vision of "a sacred action that fuses the fire of the mystic's passion for God with the fire of the activist's passion for justice. To purify the mystic fire of its self-absorption and tendency to narcissism and to purify the activist's fire of its tendencies to dramatics, burnout, demonization and divisive thinking, so that the purest elements of the mystic's fire and the purest elements of the activist's fire can come together in a vast, tender conflagration of the authentic Christ consciousness that explodes through networks of grace all over the world into calm, wise, focused, radical action to save the planet, save the broken, to save ourselves. Redemption." Maybe we can set a mystic fire in the front of the church! For womyn everywhere!

'CuseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2475938294841398902.post-12165416175581017792007-05-27T21:38:00.000-05:002007-05-27T21:38:00.000-05:00You know, there's some womyn by the name of Edith ...You know, there's some womyn by the name of Edith Stein who did a lot of work on feminism in the Catholic Church. I don’t know much about her, but I think they even made her a Saint so you should see if you can incorporate her work into your talks! She was killed by the Nazis so therefore she is a voice of the oppressed and I’m sure would be right up your alley. I’m sure she wouldn’t believe in a true “essence of woman” or the “natural vocation of woman” to motherhood and spousal love. . . I mean, no womyn that knew the oppression of the Nazis could possibly believe in such a patriarchal interpretation of scripture, right?

~ D.D.
